CLASSES

Education is a fundamental part of the Guild. The subjects taught, while carving centric, cover a wide range of topics. In the last year the Oregon Carvers Guild has delivered X classes with a combined student count of Y. Due to the restrictions of the pandemic on gatherings most of these classes have been online and delivered remotely. Although we are beginning to hold in person classes, it is most likely that many future classes will be hybrid, in that there will simultaneous remote and in person delivery.

Some of the subjects covered have been wood spirit carving, relief carving, sharpening carving tools, Santa carving and sharpening carving tools. There is a list of links below that lead to photo galleries showing the work in some of these classes. In addition to these classes the Guild also provides monthly programs focusing on some carving topic. These include demonstrations, presentations and round table discussions of carving subjects.
