Oregon Carvers Guild supports the large carving community in the Portland/Vancouver area as well as others in the state. The club is over fifty years old, originally formed as the Western Woodcarvers Association in 1973. We changed the name to be more relevant in 2020. Who are we? – We are a group of enthusiastic wood carvers want to preserve and pass on the art of carving to the next generation through classes and demos for beginners, intermediate and advanced carvers of all styles. Most members carve wood but welcome those who work in a variety of other media. Non-Profit – we are a 501c(7) charitable organization. Mission Statement – To encourage carvers at all levels in the pursuit of this art through education, fellowship and mentoring. What does it cost to Join – A 12-month membership is $30. Family Membership is $40. Patron Membership – Patrons are regular members who decide to financially support the club @ $100 because they can, and because they want to subsidize those who can't. |
