August Monthly Meeting - Potluck and Demos

There are recent Covid-inspired changes for safety

We expect that by August we'll be able to stick our toe in the water with an in-person gathering.  If the Covid situation changes, we'll reschedule.  

We expect this to be both social and informative.  We'll have a potluck and cookout at a westside location (Larry's backyard), and some demos.  Diana Larabee loves working with green wood and will show some examples and demonstrate how she uses axes, Mora knives and spoon gouges to create spoons and other useful things.  Terry Burnside will demonstrate some of his wood spirit and Santa carvings, partly as an introduction to his upcoming classes.  We're also hoping that Masa Nitani can make it to show some of his techniques for Japanese carving, including texturing.

We expect that everyone will make responsible choices for masking and distancing, depending on their vaccination status and personal health situations, including staying away.  The weather should be good, and there is enough space to be safe.

Please register so we can notify you if there are any changes.  

The club will supply Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, plates and silverware and drinks.  We would appreciate pot luck offerings such as salads, deserts, snacks or  bring chicken or other main dishes to share.  Let us know what you can do in the registration process.
