Introduction to Carving (WHITTLING)

This class will be held on the eastside of Portland at 31st and NE Sandy. You can choose betwen the October 5th and November 2nd sessions (pick one). There is a limit of 5 students at any class.  Put yourself of the Waitlist if your desired class is full.

You have to check in at MorningStar's main reception desk located on the back of the building a half block south of Sandy Blvd on Hasslao St. MorningStar graciously provides the space for this class.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Whittling is carving with a knife.  The Otter project is a great grain training exercise while helping you develop knife handling skills.  The otter is three dimensional, in the round. The tail can be carved flat to make a letter opener.

This workshop is for those who have never carved or want to try whittling You are provided with free wood, a loaner tool, pattern, glove, and thumb guard. During the class you will carve the Otter.

DATES/TIMES -  2 1/2 hours, date as noted

COST - free tuition, free wood, free loaner tool
