Interest List - Stropping

This is NOT a class, just a place for you to express your interest in taking one in the future.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

There is no obligation or cost to put your name on this list, except to dialog and explore further.  Those signing up here will be notified first when a class is scheduled.

Sharpening is intimidating to most new carvers.  This intended class is to get you started with stropping correctly and give you an essential foundation.  Other classes will eventually cover sharpening with stones and with power grinders.  Sharpening is a career-long journey; this is your chance to start learning the correct techniques.

DATES/TIMES - this will be a three hour in-person workshop with the relevant Covid restrictions at the time.  Supporting videos and a handout will be available.

COST - $30 for the class.  We might have handmade strops available to sell at the class for $20 and green honing compound for $10.

WORKSHOP LEADER - Roger Crooks, with a helper or two.

TOOLS - Students should bring their own tools if they are in decent shape, and bring their strop and honing compound, if they have them.  Practice tools and loaner strops will be available.
